  1. The Phuket 2024 Rugby Tour

2025 Tour To Phuket…

We promise to deliver yet another truly amazing and rewarding experience on our return to Thailand for the Phuket International 11s Rugby Tournament in June 2025.

We will spend 7 Nights based in Phuket around the tournament weekend. This will enable us to soak up some of the local cultures, perpare ourselves for an intense 3 days of Rugby and most importantly, carry out our charity work with local SEN School, Phuket Panyanukul School.

Having forged relationships over recent years with locals during previous visits to Thailand, we are well equipped to deliver a fantastic tour. Throughout the year, we remain in constant contact with our friends building our relationships both personally and professionally to ensure the Tour is of maximum benefit to both the Pronto Rugby Tourists and the Locals.

This really is a rugby tour with a difference and one not to be missed.

The Tour Itself…

The togetherness and ethos we have built at Pronto Rugby is a key part to our success and growth. Because of this, we will all fly out and return to the UK together on the same flights.

We are entering 2 Teams into the Phuket International 10s Tournament (1 Social/Opens Team and 1 Vets Team) which takes place at Thanyapura Sports Club over the weekend of 6th, 7th & 8th June 2025.

A big part of what we do as a group is focused around raising money and awareness for our charities (Autism East Midlands & The Lighthouse Club) and this doesn’t stop on Tour. Not only we will be raising funds and promoting the amazing work they do through our socials and wearing their logo’s with pride on our playing kit, we will visit local SEN School, Panyanukul School and give back to the Thai Community too. This is hugely rewarding for all individuals, having the chance to share a story with some pupils or carry out little rugby drills on the playing fields. We also endeavour to supply the school with some necessary equipment/stationary during our visit.

Time is also set aside for the more cultural activities too, where our tourists have the opportunity to engage and discover a different way of life and cultural believes while there.

Hotels & Stash

We will be staying at a 4* Hotel 100m from Patong Beach. Breakfast each morning at the Hotel is included and rooms will be on a twin bed basis. Our hotel has been carefully chosen by our Thai friends ensuring we are best located for ease of access to schools & tournament venue along with being able to cater for a touring rugby side.

We know everyone LOVES stash, so we’re making sure there’s plenty for you to take away with you and a bundle worth over £200, including: Playing Shirt, Playing Shorts, numerous Polos & T-Shirts, Vests, Gym Shorts, Rucksack, bucket hat and a shirt.

All Stash Items will be delivered to your door in plenty of time prior to departure so not only can you have your case packed, you’ll be travelling as part of the squad, looking the part too.

Absolutely Not – everyone is welcome (subject to availability of places) however, non-members will be required to pay their £60 membership fee also.

Due to the work we have done to create the ethos and values we stand strongly for, it’s always been a requirement for people representing Pronto Rugby to be a fully paid up member. But don’t forget, you get even more stash as part of your membership package.

As part of our aim to make this trip as affordable as possible for everyone, we are asking everyone to find a Personal Sponsor to help with costs. This will need to be a minimum of £125 (but if you can get more then brilliant, it will go into the kitty for equipment/supplies/donations that we will provide the local school while out there).

In return, their company logo will appear on your own T-Shirt, along with all the social media and wesbite exposure leading up to the trip. We plan to be big on the socials with player/tourist profiles etc and all images/text will include your personal sponsors logo.

If you cannot secure a personal sponsor, unfortunately, you will need to cover the £125 payment.

    A Sample Itinerary

Below is a guide to what your week away with Pronto Rugby would look like. Finer details, timings and events are subject to change but it gives you an idea of what we have to offer.

    Departure Day:

We will all meet at Birmingham ahead of our planned departure time to allow us to get together as a squad, introduce ourselves and any new faces before embarking on our journey to Phuket via Dubai.

Emirates will be our chosen airline and a short layover in Dubai means we get to stretch our legs approximately half way through the journey.

    Arriving In Phuket:

We are scheduled to land at Phuket International around lunchtime, where we will meet Sittichai (The Fixer) and board the bus to our hotel.

The rest of the day will be yours to recover from the journey, explore the local area or do whatever you like.

We will then reconvene for dinner & drinks later that evening.

    The Rewarding Day:

After a morning to yourself, we will meet for lunch before we take a trip to Phuket Panyanukul School. While here, we will carry out some small sports related activities with the children, take part in a welcoming assembly and leave them with the equipment/stationary we have raised funds for.

    Free Day:

The day will be yours to do with as you please.

Take in some of the local sights & culture, visit the elephant sanctuary or chill on the beach.

Make the most of a day in Thailand before we meet in the evening for food & drinks.

    Squad Day:

We plan to arrange a day together as a squad.

Mid morning we will head to the Big Buddha Temple to embrace some local culture, before heading for lunch.

The afternoon will likely be spent on the beach as a squad, enjoying the sun, sea & sand together. The chance to finalise some drills with a rugby ball and maybe a game of rounders or cricket too.

    Rugby Day:

The first day of the rugby tournament has arrived. Today’s the day the Vets start their campaign in the Phuket International 11s Tournament held at the luxury Thanyapura Sports Complex.

We will meet for breakfast at the hotel and travel to the tournament as a squad. Although todays the start of the Vets tournament, the whole squad will be travelling together so our young guns can support the old boys in their quest for glory.

    Opens Rugby Day:

It’s the time for our Opens Team to showcase their skills in the Phuket International 11s Tournament. A full day of fixtures in preparation for the semi-finals and finals tomorrow.

The Vets get a much needed rest today but it’s role reversal today as they will still be travelling to the tournament to offer as much support and encouragement as possible to the opens.

    Finals Day:

Both our Opens & Vets Teams get their chance to play for silverware today. All semi-finals and finals are played on the main pitch infront of the Grandstand so the atmosphere will be electric throughout the day. Hopefully both team make it all the way.

After the rugby has finished, we will head back to the hotel for a dinner celebrating the success of the tour on and off the field before the tradition of Kangaroo Court commences.

    Last Day:

Don’t worry, you get the day to yourself again before we fly back.

We will leave the hotel around 19;00 for a night flight back to the UK.

All being well we should be back at Birmingham early afternoon (Tuesday) where we’ll wave goodbye to our mates and make our onward journeys home taking our memories with us.
